As a young girl, I remember accompanying my mom to a beauty salon which was the equivalent of a modern day spa. It was affordable, with a full head-to-toe beauty service provided in one spot. As any other girl, I was fascinated by the place and would often end up having my nails painted to match my mom’s finger tips. Now, as an adult, I have accumulated a big collection of nail polishes. Whenever I buy open shoes or sandals, one of my first thoughts is about a colour of a nail polish I could wear them with. Here is my take on high heels and flats paired with complementary nail polishes.

One of the trends that seems to be appearing on everything is stripes. I bought a striped skirt a while back which spent a substantial amount of time lying in my closet. Just recently I’ve started wearing it at least once a week while pairing it with pretty much anything. This outfit is good for work, just throw on a black blazer for a more professional look. Clearly, this trend is here to stay for a while.

I find that the colour navy appears in my wardrobe way too often, but I still can’t get enough of its versatility. This asymmetric skirt has been the latest addition to my summer wardrobe. I pair it with a relaxed fit striped tee or a white silk top, offset by an orange or coral nail polish.

When it comes to winter, I love keeping myself warm by covering by neck. Normally I use scarves or high collared coats. This season I’m trying to embrace a new trend – the turtle neck. When I spotted this jumper at Witchery, I knew this was exactly I was after. It’s designed for a loose fit and is very soft and cozy.

If someone asks me what is my go-to casual outfit, this will be it – black coated skinny jeans and loafers paired with a knit and my favourite check scarf. It’s comfy, very practical and keeps me warm in winter.

As soon as I mentioned that pink has never been my favourite colour, pink started popping up everywhere (coats, tops, nail polishes). I’ve recently purchased this top which is made from a silk and cashmere blend and has an incredibly soft texture. It’s perfect for cooler weather and a day in the office. I wear it with my beloved skirt and Saba shoes.

In the past three to four weeks, everyone has been talking about unusually warm weather in Sydney. Since all my summer clothes have long been packed away, I managed to pull out some of the light pieces and this dress was one of them. For someone who admires embroidery, this dress has everything from light texture, comfort and a pop of colour. I wore it for a morning out which we spent enjoying breakfast at the Boatshed and soaking up the sunshine by the beach.
